About
I am a Software Developer currently working for IBM on the AIX operating system. Most of my work has been on volume management solutions such as the AIX LVM and more recently the volume manage part of PowerVM’s Shared Storage Pools.
In addition to the work I do for IBM, I enjoy learning about new technologies. Most recently, I have been exploring Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
I also have become an avid swing dancer. I have been a member of the Austin Swing Syndicate for several years. During that time, I have served as the technology coordinator, a board member (2008 – 2009), and Syndicate President(2009 – 2010). I work with the Syndicate regularly as a DJ and instructor. Additionally, I run my own dance company (BalAustin) to promote and teach a less prominent type of swing dancing called Balboa. For more information on my swing dancing, check out my dance related page: http://dance.dbrad.net.
Education
I attended the University of Utah and received a BS in Computer Science in December of 2005.
